| OFFICER HAROLD HAGEN Minneapolis PD Died August 3, 1932 Officer Harold Hagen was a motorcycle officer with Minneapolis PD. On Wednesday, August 3rd, he was traveling south on Victory Memorial Drive at 39th Avenue North on the motorcycle when a car driven by Clarence Oman pulled onto the drive in front of him, causing him to broadside the car. Hagen was thrown from the motorcycle; his head was crushed when it hit the car and he died instantly. The force of the crash even tipped the car over on its side. Four people in the car were also seriously injured. Mrs. Anna Oman, 37, had a broken leg, a broken arm and cuts and bruises. Also in the car were Jean Mitchell, 14, and Katherine Harvie, 29. Officer Hagen was 31 years old. He was born June 27th, 1901. He was divorced. He had been with the department since December 1st, 1929. His funeral was held Saturday, August 6th, at the Crystal Lake Chapel and his burial was in the cemetery there.
